Rightist
Those who are on the right side of the political spectrum, which ranges from the right (conservative) to the left (liberal). The terms right and left date back to the French Revolution (1789–1799) and the seating arrangements of aristocrats and radicals at the first meeting of the Estate General in 1789. The aristocrats sat to the right and the radicals to the left of the president's chair. Reactionary is a term associated with rightists; it also originated with the French Revolution, describing those who opposed the revolt against the monarchy.
