  • A philosophy, attitude, and methodology for nondirective helping and change within groups and organizations. A collaborative, empowering client-consultant relationship is established to codiagnose situations and codevelop appropriate remedies. The emphasis of process consultation is on process (how things are done between people in systems) rather than content. Process consultation involves activities designed to increase a system's awareness and understanding of its functioning, “ownership” of its processes, and a capacity for learning, to improve how its members work together.
