  • In a general sense, the term refers to the study of relationships between individuals or groups and entities in a position of authority. More specifically, politics is a discipline that is preoccupied with the study of government. Politics is concerned with relationships between citizens of a society and the representatives of those citizens, as well as the policies implemented by members of government to preserve or further develop the best interests of the citizens. The study of politics also examines the various decision-making processes that occur at the governmental level.
