Pocket Veto
A presidential political tactic aimed to avoid a bill becoming law. A pocket veto is achieved if the president does not sign a bill in the 10 days required by Article 1, Section 7 of the Constitution and Congress has adjourned before the 10 days have passed. If Congress is in session during the 10 days, then the bill would become law.
