  • The relationships between parents or guardians, teachers, and members of school communities. Parental involvement has four goals: (1) offering parents opportunities to meaningfully influence educational programs and environments, (2) providing continuity between the home and the educational context, (3) creating a forum for parent education, and (4) empowering parents to set goals for their children and families. Parental involvement supports parents in their child-rearing roles and teachers in their educational roles and builds a feeling of community.
