No Child Left Behind (NCLB)
Public Law 107–110, signed on June 8, 2002, with the stated purpose of providing every child with equal access to a high-quality education. The NCLB Act is built on four principles: (1) accountability for results, (2) more choices for parents, (3) greater local control and flexibility, and (4) an emphasis on doing what works based on scientific research.
