  • A relatively common neurological disorder most often diagnosed in young children. ADD, or ADHD, consists of (a) inattention/distractibility and/or (b) impulsivity/ hyperactivity symptoms. Diagnosis is based on an interview and objective testing, and symptoms must exist before age seven. Stimulant medications and behavioral therapy are effective in treating ADD.
