  • A connection, relation, or association between two or more entities. In the social sciences, linkages refer to the connection between political organizations (e.g., political parties, social movements, special-interest groups), citizens, and society or the state. Linkages may be formal or informal ties between individuals or groups or may reflect a more conceptual, subjective connection between an individual and organizations or the political system. For criminal justice agencies to work together, there should be communication or links between them and their investigations. Lack of communication results in linkage blindness.
