  • An illustration representing an arrangement of visual elements, which can be either functional or artistic in nature. A graphic can stand alone but usually accompanies text to make a message visually appealing or to bring greater clarity to a message. A graphic can be found in any medium, including printed material, television, or the World Wide Web. More and more, regardless of the medium used for display, the graphic is being generated via a computer. The enhanced capabilities of computers have made it possible not only to produce graphics for all mediums but also to create extraordinary graphic images that can be manipulated in applications such as electronic games, scientific visualization, or computer-aided engineering and design.
