Optimism and Pessimism: Measurement
Research has shown that optimism and pessimism are important influences on emotional responses to health problems and health-related coping behavior. Optimism and pessimism have been defined differently—and therefore measured differently—by different researchers. Thus, there are a variety of measures available.
