    Note: In parliamentary elections on October 7, 2018, the Independent Democratic Action (ADI) party won a plurality of 41.8 percent of the vote and 25 seats, followed by the Movement for the Liberation of São Tomé and Príncipe–Social Democratic Party (MLSTP-PSD) with 40.3 percent and 23 seats, and an electoral coalition of the Union for Development and Democracy (UDD) and the Party of Democratic Convergence (PCD) with 9.5 percent of the vote and 5 seats. The remaining 2 seats were won by the Movement of Independent Citizens of São Tomé and Príncipe. On December 3 Jorge Born Jesus of the ADI took office as prime minister of a MLSTP-PSD–PCD-UDD coalition government.
