  • The Te a Party movement, since its beginnings in early 2009, has been taken up by a number of different voices, each with its own priorities. In February 2009, about a month after President Barack Obama took the oath of office, CNBC host Rick Santelli called for a “Chicago Te a Party in July.” The web domain http://ChicagoTeaParty.com had been registered as early as August 2008 by Zack Christensen, a Republican and producer for radio host Milt Rosenberg—feeding commentary that the idea was carefully plotted in advance. The site highlighted a video of Santelli's broadcast but is no longer in use.
