Salazar, Ken
Ken Salazar (1955–) is a Colorado farmer, attorney, and politician. Salazar, a Democrat, is known for his willingness to compromise and seek a working relationship with opponents. His legal and political career has been entwined with such perennial western issues as land, water, and natural resources. As secretary of the interior, Salazar struggled with a legacy of deregulation and energy issues, but he oversaw a potential settlement of the long-standing suit over American Indian trust lands and royalties, known at its resolution as Cobell v. Salazar.
