  • El Paso, Texas, is the county seat of El Paso County at the western tip of Texas. It was the nineteenth-largest city in the United States and the fifth-largest city in Texas with a population of 649,121 recorded by the 2010 U.S. Census. El Paso County is the lone county in the U.S. Census Bureau's El Paso Metropolitan Statistical Area.

    El Paso is located at the southern edge of the Franklin Mountains and Mesilla Valley and is part of a large international urban area. Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico lies across the U.S.-Mexico border from El Paso. Juárez, with an estimated population of 1.4 million, is the fifth-largest city in Mexico.
