Abstract
Mr Somah, a biomedical engineering student at Northeastern University and CEO of Thira, dreamt of reducing the mortality rate of premature babies in developing countries, starting with Ghana, his home country. In 2014, he created a medical device prototype, Respire, with the guidance of school mentors and the help of school resources: laboratories, a network of professionals, and financial grants. In 2019, a final product was ready for the market. Mr Somah needed to define a robust strategy of internationalization to boost the company’s visibility in Ghana and increase revenue with limited expenditures.
