Abstract

This case goes over the impact that the COVID-19 pandemic has had on college sports. Despite most university sports being canceled—and despite skyrocketing coronavirus cases on campuses—some NCAA conferences are moving forward with their fall football seasons. With football teams—and the attendant games, sponsorships, and broadcast deals—raking in a hefty chunk of revenue for some schools, university officials will have to weigh the financial benefits of carrying on with a season against the potential fallout of putting players’ health at risk.
