Abstract

The writer gives us an overview of the teamwork and union systems at General Motors in Spain, illustrating the way that a powerful company can exert influence over the constraints of a national business system. According to research, many characteristics of national systems of industrial relations shape the attitudes of unions and workers to teamwork, which explains the existent different work environments and employee conditions of a multi-national company set in Spain as opposed to one located in Britain.
