Abstract

The case deals with the problems that arise in an organization when declared values and practiced values (technically referred to as espoused and enacted values) are not aligned. In this particular instance, the victim of the non-alignment was a senior banker who felt he was not given due recognition in terms of being promoted to a job for which he held all the right qualifications. The bank for which he worked always indicated that the right man could always look forward to a career he deserved as the bank did not believe in showing partiality of any kind.
