Boxful: Revolutionizing Storage Space in Cramped Cities

Abstract

Founded in October 2014, Boxful offers door-to-door on-demand storage services to help cramped city residents store their stuff. Established in Hong Kong, the company quickly expanded to Taipei in 2015 after raising USD 6.6 million. In 2018, it extended its reach to Shenzhen, southern China, and planned to gain more footholds in Mainland China as well as other markets in Asia after securing a further USD 18 million in funding. Now the company is considering an initial public offering as an exit for its angel investors. This case provides readers with an opportunity to understand how Boxful has built a repeatable, scalable, and profitable business model and to make suggestions for how it should stay competitive.
