Battle for the Caribbean

Abstract

This case study examines the leadership styles employed by owners of three rival companies in the cruise liner industry. Focusing on the history of the Carnival cruise line, we see the visionary leadership styles of founder Ted Arison and his son, Micky Arison, alongside the directive style of business partner Zonis, in comparison with those of rivals at Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Caribbean Lines.
