Originally developed for deaf children, this innovative and successful drama programme addressing personal, social and emotional needs can benefit all children in primary schools. The interactive and lively ideas cover a variety of themes from empathy to assertiveness. Bringing together the expertise of a drama teacher and the skills of a teacher of the deaf, the book provides an unconventional way of exploring human concerns.

This is a short session designed to consolidate the module.

Objectives
  • To consolidate the learning about empathy from Session 4.
  • To highlight the importance of affirmation as promoting positive feelings in friendships.
  • To consolidate the children's learning from the whole module.
Materials and Preparation
  • Use ‘Friendship bag’ (CD-ROM). Produce one copy for each child. Or you may prefer to draw your own version on a flipchart sheet if you would like the children to work collaboratively. (For use in the activity ‘Friendship bag’.)
