Internationalization, the transformation with which this book is concerned, has been seen here as both a descriptive and a prescriptive problem. The descriptive theory of internationalization emerging from the book will be summarized first in this chapter. The argument will then be reviewed from the point of view of a contemporary European intent on forming a well-founded view of what ought to be done.
