Accelerating Children's Learning
Being a good learner is not just a matter of learning a few techniques like mind mapping or brain gym. It is about the whole person: their attitudes, values, self-image and relationships, as well as their skills and strategies. (Claxton, 2002, p. 15)
We can accelerate children's learning if we:
- heed the health warnings
- reflect on and review progress
- maintain and enhance inclusive provision for a broad and balanced curriculum
- use creative differentiation to support inclusion.
In our learning journey together we came to recognize that to accelerate learning it was essential to take account of at least four health warnings.
