6.1 The Instrument and its Administration
Creativity Assessment Inventory (CAI) was developed to measure six dimensions—challenge, freedom, liveliness, openness, conflict and risk-taking. It contains 24 statements, four for each of the six aspects. A respondent checks each statement, indicating the extent to which it is true for him (on a 4-point scale). This instrument is self-administered.
6.2 Conceptual Framework
Creativity and innovation are sometimes seen as synonymous. At a minimum, creativity can be defined as problem identification and idea generation while innovation can be defined as idea selection, development and commercialisation.
