71.1 The Instrument and its Administration
The Power Enhancers scale (PE scale) assesses the value attached by members of an organisation to power enhancers (desired) and the importance given in practice (actual). The purpose of the instrument is to give top people data, which they can examine to plan strategies for their roles as leaders by developing weak power enhancers. The scale is appended.
The instrument requires a respondent to read 13 statements (organisational practices) and rate each on a 5-point scale to indicate how much importance is given in practice and how useful it is for leadership effectiveness.
