During a 2003 superintendents’ meeting, I listened intently as Carlene Murphy delivered an overview of the Whole-Faculty Study Group System. As she explained the process, I began to think this would be an excellent tool for the districtwide initiatives that were under way in Camden County. In my opinion, the Whole Faculty Study Group (WFSG) process was the perfect framework for formalizing our work because it provided the structure for the initiatives that Camden County Schools had begun. These initiatives already included making data-driven decisions, offering extensive professional learning, and totally revamping the instructional and curriculum design.
