A typical day in the life of a school social worker is less than typical. This chapter is more of an overview of many responsibilities that school social workers experience. I am not suggesting that all these are expected in one job description but may vary idiosyncratically depending on the state and individual position. For the most part, a social worker can schedule appointments in advance and follow a systematic plan. The school is a microcosm of life and thus vulnerable to the crises which evolve.
