Since then, employment relations of this island nation have been shaped largely by Singapore's vision of building a world-class business infrastructure to overcome its limited physical and natural resources. This chapter explains psychological contract development in Singapore. A model is developed that focuses on the roles that macroeconomic and labor market conditions play in shaping the indigenous psychological contract and the organizational experiences of Singaporean workers.
