What is it?
Grief is your response to a feeling of loss.
Loss can occur in many ways.
Death; the divorce of parents; a betrayal by friends; a separation from friends; a relationship break-up; a disfigurement; loss of pride; loss of status; moving house; starting at a new school; losing your money; losing your pet; or losing a source of enjoyment are some of the things that may cause feelings of loss.
How Does it Feel?
Everybody experiences grief differently.
You may experience a feeling for a short period of time, every now and again, or every day. Sometimes the period that grief lasts depends on how important the loss. For instance, the loss of a sporting match may not cause as much grief as the loss of a pet.
