An annual general meeting, commonly abbreviated as AGM, is a meeting that official bodies and associations involving the public, including companies and shareholders, are typically required to hold by law.
An AGM is generally held every year to inform members of previous and future business activities. These past and future activities are documented in an annual report that outlines every aspect of company performance for the previous 12 months. In organisations run by volunteers or a paid committee, the AGM is generally the forum for the election of officers or representatives for the organisation.
