A talking head is a media commentator whom the media (especially broadcast) recognise as being able to speak intelligently on a specific subject or range of subjects. Organisations provide talking heads mostly to advocate their own key messages, but also to position their brand as being associated with particular expertise and sometimes simply to raise their profile.
