The phrase news management is broadly self-explanatory and refers to the various techniques that organisations and individuals deploy in their efforts to manage’ the news and influence media coverage of their activities. The ambition is typically to create favourable news coverage although in circumstances of very bad news, the goal may be damage limitation.
