This is a story about Akuti who was badly hurt in a road accident. She spent a long time in hospital and because she was unable to talk, she was eventually given a talking machine. The children will have many questions about Akuti in hospital and the various treatments.
The story lends itself to work about accidents, hospitals, road safety and the suggested activities support this. You may be able to investigate your local hospital A&E facilities and find out about intensive care, support systems, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy.
