This chapter describes the beginning of our school's journey toward maximizing nearby outdoor spaces to promote learning for all students in grades Kindergarten to 7 in an urban location in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. Reflecting on adventures in our nearby forest, through the lens of Forest School, the positive benefits of being outside are revealed and plans for meaningful outdoor learning described. It becomes clear that the ethos of Forest School can be cultivated in any school.
