As I look back over the past decade, there is a great deal that we have learned about how leadership impacts performance and how it is developed. I have also moved my research beyond examining the full range of leadership to include an emphasis on two new areas: authentic leadership development and what my colleagues and I have called positive forms of leadership (for example, psychological capital). I would like to briefly share with you some of the insights that have been learned from this work that inform how you might develop leadership.
