Introduction
There is a growing consensus amongst researchers that the future prosperity of emerging economies is dependent on the liberalization of their economic systems and the consequent unleashing of hitherto-suppressed entrepreneurial energy (Hoskisson et al., 2000; Peng, 2001). Entrepreneurs in emerging economies face additional challenges in growing and sustaining new ventures which are not encountered by their counterparts in advanced economies.
