The following chapter presents data from several sources addressing key issues related to disability, employment, and work. We begin with a description of our primary sources of data in this chapter, including a discussion of how the definition of disability can impact estimates. We then present data on disparities between people with and without disabilities, first in terms of employment, and then with respect to income and poverty. We go on to examine, in more detail, people who are working, specifically their occupations, industries, and means of transportation to work.
