This chapter offers insight into how play-based pedagogy in media-making can give children media experience and new media play-based initiatives. We argue that play and media do not necessarily start with digital technology or media, but in creativity and bodily experience. We build on Vygotsky’s idea (2004: 11) that creativity rooted in play is ‘an essential condition for existence’.
