This chapter is based on a research project on digital literacy in Norwegian kindergartens (see Chapter 5 for information on the Norwegian context). The focus of this study was the qualities related to children’s play with aesthetic form and content during the creation of multimodal media products, such as animated films using digital tools. Data was collected in a kindergarten with six boys aged between 5 and 6 years, and two staff members (practitioners) collaborating to create an animated film.
