One of the biggest fears of first-time teleteaching instructors is the belief that teaching from a distance is radically different from teaching face-to-face. Although it is true that there are differences, it is also true that the basic principles for teaching and learning from a distance are the same as the basic principles for any teaching and learning environment. Instructors still need to address issues such as program purpose and the volume of information that students must learn, but managing these areas calls for a difference of emphasis in a technology-based learning environment.
