The second section of the book, comprising Chapters 20 and 21, was developed to address two major issues that became apparent during the process of developing the narrative approach of this book. Through conversations with several chapter authors, we discovered that the widespread and public disclosure concerning sexual orientation required by authoring a personal narrative in the prior section of this book systematically excluded the stories of many counseling professionals.
