David Adams felt that he couldn't do anything right. To his mind he was no good at anything. He liked nothing about himself and found it almost impossible to praise himself for anything that he did. He gave himself no positive attention whatsoever and found it hard to get it from those around him because he reacted negatively to others. He didn't think that he had any nice qualities at all.
