This is a visualisation exercise for dispersing of negative feelings.

Use the activity sheet ‘Negative Feelings’ at the end of the session.

Deep relaxation technique is not recommended because this exercise concentrates on raising and bringing to the fore negative emotions.

The following questions touch on the issue of negativity:

  • What do we mean by negative feelings?
  • Is it a good thing to hold onto negative feelings?
  • What is the effect, if any, of holding onto negative feeling?

As an exercise to be carried out beforehand the children can fill out the activity sheet ‘Negative Feelings’ which encourages them to write on the lines of an arrow the feelings they would like to disperse of whatever they may be.
