Tourism plays an important and continuously growing role in the economies of many countries in the world. In Poland, the tourism sector generates a significant portion of the country’s GDP, investments, and employment. Poland has interesting tourist potential, and the role of tourism as a sector is stressed in national strategies and plans.

Located in Central Europe, Poland occupies 312,679 square kilometres and shares borders with Germany, Russia, Lithuania, Belarus, Ukraine, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic. Its population is over 38.5 million. These numbers make it one of the largest and most populous countries in Europe. The capital of Poland is Warsaw.
