Munich ranked fourth in the Mercer Quality-of-Living Ranking for 2016 and has been among the top cities on the list for many years in a row. Munich is highly attractive, not only for citizens, but also for tourists. Many of the measurement criteria applied by Mercer are equally beneficial for residents and tourists, including criteria such as political stability, security, health care, pollution, public transport, availability of consumer goods, and recreational facilities. Munich is also, however, the city with the highest cost of living in Germany.
