Doha, Qatar

Doha is the capital city of Qatar, a country located on the coast of the Persian Gulf. It is the largest city in the country and home to about 718,000 people as of 2015, about a third of the nation’s population. It is known as the economic center of the country, with the main sector being oil and gas.

Doha was not always supportive of tourism. In the past, Doha was known to avoid low- and middle-income leisure tourists; it focused on business travel and high-end luxury retreats instead.
