Of the many reason to travel, tourism as related to art or cultural heritage is one of the more popular options. Many places develop tourism sites solely around local or national heritage, allowing visitors to experience history firsthand through the visual culture that remains. Tourism and the arts can encompass many different types of sites or places: art and culture museums, archaeological sites, architectural complexes or buildings, or performances and other types of artistic experiences.
