Tokyo, Japan

Japan’s capital, Tokyo, can be found in the heart of the country. With a total population of more than 13 million as of 2014, it is the largest and busiest city in Japan. Greater Tokyo was also considered the most populous metropolis in the world in 2014. Tokyo is renowned for its variations in population between the daytime and nighttime hours. These fluctuations are due to the daily commute of residents from nearby prefectures to Tokyo for jobs and education opportunities.
