Special Event Tourism

Special event tourism, which encompasses several formats, is an important component of the travel and tourism industry and plays a critical role in the economies of destinations. To define special event tourism, it is important to understand the components of this concept. First, an event is a happening, or something that is created to bring people together for a specific purpose. Special refers to anything that is unusual, distinct, or extraordinary while tourism, broadly defined, relates to travel for leisure or recreation.
