The Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) was established as the result of a partnership between the Australian Defence Force and the University of New South Wales (UNSW). After providing a brief overview of the ADFA and its purpose, operation, and history, this entry goes on to describe cadet life and training in detail and discusses the charges of misconduct that have plagued the ADFA.

The Australian Navy, Army, and Air Force all depend on ADFA for training future leaders. Academy training consists of three years of training for 800 to 1,000 navy midshipmen.
